Prof. Gordon S. Wood Dies in Supermarket Parking Lot
Mr. Wood in retirement a few years ago Gordon S. Wood, Prof. Emeritus of American History at Brown, died at age 92 over the weekend. Mr. Wood was fatally struck by a car in a supermarket parking lot on Taunton Ave. in East Providence. (Honest!) A Sad Year Made Sadder - The Death of Louie's
I am certain I am not the only Brown alum who survived for 4 years in Providence because of the cuisine of the Louis Family Restaurant on Brook St. just south of Benevolent, behind the Wriston Quad. The modern manifestation of the Louis Family Restauarnt During the pandemic, Louie's added "patio dining" on the Brook St. sidewalk and closed for dinner, limiting its hours and offerings to breakfast and lunch.
